50-Year Anniversary of the 1953 National Jamboree to Be Held September 20, 2003

The year was 1953. The Third National Scout Jamboree was held at Irvine Ranch in Southern California. There were 45,000 participants. And it was the only National Scout Jamboree ever held on the West Coast.

The Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America, was the host council for the 1953 National Scout Jamboree and will once again be hosting jamboree participants, this time at the 50th Anniversary Alumni Reunion.

If you attended the 1953 jamboree, or know someone who did, we want you!

The reunion on Saturday, September 20, from 6 p.m. top 8 p.m. at the Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel will include a reception and dinner along with memorabilia, photos, patches, and uniforms form the 1953 jamboree. Participants, enthusiasts, collectors, and interested people are invited to get together to celebrate this historical jamboree.
