For 40 years, Randy Cline has helped entertain, educate, and inspire thousands of
participants in Scouting’s largest national events and signature training programs.
Mr. Cline began participating in National Order of the Arrow Conferences in
1969. From 1977 through 1990, he produced the conference shows. He has continued to be involved in shows at nearly every subsequent conference.
A Vigil Honor member of the OA, Mr. Cline has served on the national Order
of the Arrow Committee for 22 years. He led development of the current National
Leadership Seminar in 1994 and of the OA’s first strategic plan in 1996.
Mr. Cline has also been active in several national Scout jamborees. He directed
the opening arena show in 1989. For the jamborees in 1997, 2001, and 2005, he played a
key role in creating Odyssey of the Law, Scoutopia, and Twelve Cubed.
Among his many other accomplishments, Mr. Cline has participated in the
development of Wood Badge for the 21st Century, served on the Philmont Training
Center faculty, and chaired the Northeast Region’s Boy Scout Committee. He has
volunteered in five councils, as well as on the Northeast Region Executive Board.
Mr. Cline is an Eagle Scout and James E. West Fellow. He holds the Silver
Beaver, Silver Antelope, and OA Distinguished Service awards.
A graduate of Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, Mr. Cline retired in 2005.
His career included more than three decades as CEO of three different Girl Scout councils.
Today, he is consulting the Girl Scouts of the USA on council mergers./p>
Mr. Cline and his wife, MaryAnne, have two grown sons. On two occasions,
the Clines have served as host couple for BSA Report to the Nation delegations.
