For three decades, Ron Migita has served Scouts in his home state, throughout the
Western Region, and across the country. His experience as a Cub Scout and Boy
Scout inspired him to serve as Scoutmaster, district chair, council president, and
Western Region board member, while his expertise as a banker has allowed him to
strengthen the national organization’s financial operations.
A member of the National Executive Board since 2002, Mr. Migita serves on
the Pension Investment, Finance and Investment, Human Resources Group, Council
Solutions Group, and Audit committees. He chairs the Program Impact Committee.
For his service to Scouting, Mr. Migita has received the District Award of
Merit, the Asian American Spirit of Scouting Service Award, and the Silver Beaver
Award. In 2003, the Aloha Council named him its Distinguished Citizen of the Year.
Mr. Migita’s focus on youth development, public education, and economic
growth is reflected in his other activities. He is a member of the University of Hawaii’s
Board of Regents, a trustee for the Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation, a board member
of the Hawaii Business Roundtable, and president of the Hawaii Bankers Association.
As president and chief executive officer of Central Pacific Financial
Corporation and Central Pacific Bank, Mr. Migita oversees more than $5.4 billion
in assets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the
University of Hawaii at Manoa and is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking
School at the University of Washington and the University of Hawaii Advanced
Management Program.
Mr. Migita and his wife, Lella, have an Eagle Scout son, a daughter, and
one grandchild.
